Hattiesburg, Miss. – Brett Rogers, 43, of Collins, Mississippi, pled guilty in U.S. District Court today to threatening to injure agents working in the local Hattiesburg office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), announced U.S. Attorney Gregory K. Davis and FBI Special Agent in Charge Daniel McMullen.
Rogers admitted that on September 18, 2012, he posted an email message on the FBI’s national website in which he said that he was going to go to the “little FBI office in Hattiesburg, Mississippi and start putting some bullets through the heads of people.”

Rogers will be sentenced by U.S. District Judge Keith Starrett on March 14, 2013 at 9:30 a.m., and faces a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

This case was investigated by the FBI and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Ruth Morgan.
